Serving the needs of the professional audio community, Mr. Allyn combines more than 40 years of expertise and a wealth of wide-ranging experience. He has designed, built and operated various facilities and systems including recording studios, screening and spotting rooms, theatrical and club systems, etc. for numerous clients in the U.S. and abroad. He brings to each project a commitment to the highest possible professional standards and a hands-on understanding of practical realities.
STUART J. ALLYN - sound designer, recording engineer and producer. Sound Design credits include production designs for films, theatre and television, as well as facilities designs for theatres, recording studios, clubs and other commercial, industrial and private applications. He has served as acoustical and systems consultant to architects and builders. He received an EMMY AWARD for his work on the design team and as lead audio mixer for CBS' 1994 WINTER OLYMPICS in Lillehammer, Norway.
He completely re-designed the Westchester Broadway Theatre for their N.Y. debut productions of the critically acclaimed PHANTOM by Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit and SAYONARA by James Michener. He has designed 40 subsequent productions for this theatre including: CATS, JEKYL AND HYDE, SWING, BRIGADOON, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, PIRATES of PENZANCE, GIGI, etc. Among his other theatre credits are: the multi-award winning SONG OF SINGAPORE, 1991's "Best Off-Broadway Musical", and the national tour of COMPANY. He was the resident sound designer for Robert LuPone's Manhattan Class Company Theatre, where he designed productions of D-TRAIN, ABLE BODIED SEAMAN, and LIAR, LIAR. His work has been seen on Broadway, at Carnegie Hall and at the Public Theatre for ONE FLEA SPARE and SATURN RETURNS. He designed and mixed the All star Gala Actor’s Fund Benefit for Kathi Moss with 40 original Broadway cast members of NINE, GRAND HOTEL and GREASE. He sound designed and mixed the 25th anniversary of GRAND HOTEL with all original Broadway Cast members.
His work has been nominated for 2 Grammys, 3 Emmys, an Obie, and several CLIOs and has won EMMY, ASCAP, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and 3 film festival awards.
